Story: Sajib is only eight years old. His father is Masud Rana. He is living at Master para in Modhupur upazilla under of Tangail District. He selling Cosmetics and iron cloths. He can earn maximum three thousand taka per month. From childhood, Sajib keep the books very close when reading. We always suggested him not to do this, but he did not obey our advice. We beat him many times just for this reasons. He never told us that he couldn’t see properly. Sajib thought this is normal, as he didn’t realize he had an eye problem.
He is reading class two at Moizuddin Sarker Bidday Niketon (KG), in Modhupur Pourasova . Once he came from school and said to his parents, tomorrow an eye physician will come to our school and examine our eyes. Next day he came with his father and Doctor examined Sajib eye and said that he had an eye problem and we suggested him to come to our SPECS project immediately. Next day he came with his parents. The Doctor of SPECS examined Sajib by different instruments properly and prescribed spectacles. The counselor of SPECS had given Sajib spectacles without free of cost. Sajib is happy wearing spectacles because he can see everything now. He watches TV in the village and reads books normally. The next day Sajib came from school and said to his parents, “Papa, I can see the words on the blackboard now.” then his father came to our project and said My son can now lead a normal life because of SPECS. So I am very grateful to the SPECS program. Analysis: School Vision Screening program is the process to Screen the vision of primary school Students who have eye problem. Its really good strategy for awarding the community and helpful to the Students. Sajib’s father was encouraged by this program and he went to SECS clinic. Now Sajib can see the blackboard properly.
