Success Story: The name of the village is Sunbanda under Manikgonj District. The Villag is located beside Kaligonja river and most of the time it’s affected by River. Farmers of the village are not able to grow good crops just because of that River. Most of the people of that village are uneducated and unemployed. Jusna is living in the village. She is 28 and married she has two sons and a daughter. Her husband name is Bareque. He is a by-cycle repairman. He earned 80 taka per day. But it was not enough for their family. So their children can not get enough food. Their two sons and a daughter are going to school but its relay difficult for them to send their child to the school because they were unable to give the school fee and others materials cost. They were very unhappy.  

One day a symbiosis Worker met with Jusna in her house and we invited her to join our functional education group after listening about her life stly from her. Later Jusna discuss this with her husband and joined to one of our our functional education group. After eight month she completed her functional education with good result.

Afterwards she joined to ‘keya’ Savings group and start giving 10 taka per week to the savings group. She joined to our three months sewing program and successfully. After completing this training she received loan of taka 3,000 from her savings group to buy a sewing machine. With that sewing machine she started receiving order to make cloths from the local community. After a period of time she became popular in her living area. She also started selling cloths to the community members also. Now she can earn about 80 to 100 taka each day.

She can now give good food to their children also they can go to school. She got a sanitary latrine to her house and all her family members are using it. Also her husband now has by-cycle spare parts shop in the local market. She is thankful to symbiosis and really leading a happy life with other family members. 

Analysis: This story shows that the significant changed of Jusna’s life. She felt empowered by reading and writing. By the swing activities she improved her life style and so that every body know and respect her.
